Community Engagement Services
Our Community Engagement Services empower individuals to actively participate in their communities by exploring their interests, building meaningful relationships, and creating lasting connections. We support individuals in discovering opportunities to engage in activities and experiences that are meaningful to them while developing confidence, independence, and a greater sense of belonging.
We believe meaningful community participation can open doors to new experiences, friendships, natural supports, and personal growth. Our goal is to help each individual feel valued, connected, and empowered to be an active and included member of their community.

Life Skill Services
Our Life Skills Services are personalized supports designed to strengthen independence, build confidence, and promote greater self-sufficiency in everyday life. Services are tailored to each individual’s needs, goals, interests, and preferences and can take place in the home, community, or other meaningful settings.
We work alongside each individual to develop practical life skills, make meaningful choices, build confidence, and increase independence. Whether support is focused on daily living, self-advocacy, social skills, emotional well-being, or participating in the community, our goal is to help each person live with greater confidence, purpose, and independence.
Life Skills Specialist & Program Director
Yordanos Gugsa
Yordanos brings over eight years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities and working in special education and behavioral services. Her experience includes direct support, service coordination, staff support, and program leadership.
As Program Director with Helpful Hands Support Services, Yordanos works closely with individuals, families, staff, and care teams to develop and coordinate individualized supports that promote independence, confidence, and meaningful participation. She is passionate about helping individuals recognize their strengths, advocate for themselves, develop practical life skills, and pursue the interests and goals that are meaningful to them.
Yordanos believes that meaningful support begins with listening to each individual, understanding what matters most to them, and creating opportunities for them to be active participants in their own lives.
